| I would expect that by legalizing small amounts of marijuana we could reduce the demand on our correctional facilities, and by taxing marijuana generate more revenue for the state to put towards education and healthcare. | |||
| We have the lowest 'sin' taxes in New England. We could raise them some and still be significantly lower than VT, ME and MA. We will have to continue to raise the gas tax as cars and trucks become more and more efficient and the cost of road maintenance continues to rise. | |||
| Our Rainy Day fund is already dangerously low. I would support raising out of state tuition at our state schools but holding the line on in state tuition. Current pensions and those of those close to retirement shouldn't be touched but new hires might have to expect a different pay rate and/or pension plan. | |||

| The Supreme Court has ruled that money equals free speech and therefore limits cannot be placed on financial contributions. That's ok with me but there should be full disclosure of who is making the contributions and those making the contributions should pay the personal federal income tax rate for their income level. I would not make it a priority to repeal the NH Voter ID law but I will work to make it easier for registered voters to get that ID. think if we're going to require ID to vote its not too much to require the same for firearms. | |||

If someone is arrested by local police and it turns out that they are in the US illegally then they should be turned over to federal authorities. | I'm sure there are some regulations that are not needed and I would be more than willing to eliminate or reduce some, but I'm not a Tea Party supporter. The modern economy is changing faster than workers can adapt and the state has an interest in making sure there is a qualified workforce. I wouldn't support direct financial payments to homeowners but I would support help in refinancing or restructuring of debt. Properly maintaining the infrastructure we have would create good middle class jobs and improve the economic environment for all in the state. | |||

| As I stated earlier the state has an interest in having a qualified workforce and providing financial aid to students is one way to ensure that it does. I would offer partial or full scholarships to NH high school graduates who commit to working in NH towns, cities, counties and/or the State of NH for a 'discount' compared to existing starting pay. It would help alleviate some budget stresses from the cities and towns and make it possible for NH kids to stay in NH. | |||
